Albanian winger back south after his loan spell is cut short

-

Albanian winger Egli Kaja’s loan deal at Livingston has been cut short, with the 21-year-old returning to parent club AFC Wimbledon for the second half of the season as Gary Holt prepares for the January transfer window.

The youngster was signed by previous manager Kenny Miller on a season-long loan deal from the English League One club in July but has struggled to make an impact north of the border.

Despite starting four games under Miller, he has failed to make the grade since Holt took over the hotseat, making just four substitute appearances.

Kaja was called up to the Albanian national team for the first time during his stay in West Lothian but didn’t feature in any of their games.

Meanwhile, attackers Raffaele de Vita and Lee Miller are continuing to make progress in their return from injury but aren’t expected to be back before the winter break.
