Pupils support those in need

-

kind-hearted primary school pupils have been taking part in a Christmas advent calendar with a difference. the pupils at Windyknowe primary school in bathgate have been participating in the Christmas reverse advent Calendar and instead of taking things from it, they donate things to it. During the advent month, rather than receiving a gift or chocolate, the children have been donating items to the local bathgate foodbank. Each school day a class was designated a day to bring one, two or as many items as they can manage for the local foodbank. and the Foodbank were then able to make up Christmas dinner supplies with tinned vegetables and potatoes, Christmas pudding and custard and a box of chocolates. scott kerr, acting principal teacher at Windyknowe primary school, said: “We received an overwhelming response under our reverse advent Calendar. “the children have been learning about how they can give support to people in need.”
