U3A seek new faces
The West Lothian U3A (University of the 3rd Age) is always on the look out for new members. The organisation is a UKwide movement of retired and semi-retired people who come together to continue their educational, social and creative interests in a friendly and informal environment. The next U3A Open Meeting will be on Wednesday, January 16 at 2pm in Uphall Community Centre. The speaker will be Benedict Bate from the charity Woodland Trust, who will talk about the importance and value of woods and trees and the work of the Trust. The group enjoyed its Christmas party most recently when a good time was had by all with singing accompanied for the first time by the U3A Ukulele Group. The committee would like to thank all members who generously donated raffle prizes. For more call Helen on 01506 655976. Further information is also available at u3asites. org.uk/westlothian.
