Wel­come cash boost to char­i­ties

West Loth­ian Cre­ma­to­rium re­cently had their an­nual Me­mo­rial Carol ser­vice where they pre­sented the teenage Can­cer trust and the british Lung foun­da­tion char­i­ties with £1500 each on be­half of fam­i­lies who kindly do­nated through the pre­cious metal re­cy­cling scheme. or­gan­is­ers said they would like to ex­press their heart­felt thanks to the fam­i­lies for their kind do­na­tions. on the night fam­i­lies joined to sing var­i­ous car­ols to re­mem­ber their loved ones with the rev John povey lead­ing the ser­vice and or­gan­ist John Cook pro­vid­ing the mu­sic. the chil­dren from Vip arts and sports academy wel­comed fam­i­lies into the chapel with carol singing out­side and then dur­ing the ser­vice with a spe­cial up­lift­ing per­for­mance of the Ca­lypso Hymn once the me­mo­rial cards were placed on the tree. a spokesper­son said:“We would thank all that at­tended on the night and for the kind do­na­tions which came to a to­tal of £252 which will be do­nated to the Vip arts and sports academy to al­low them to con­tinue to pro­vide their great work.”
