Tom Kerr – Provost West Lothian Council
It has been a privilege to represent West Lothian as Provost for an eleventh year.
During that time, it has been fantastic to meet so many of you and find out more about all of the excellent work taking place across our communities.
It’s been a special honour to represent West Lothian at many events over this past year. There are too many highlights to mention them all.
In particular, it was fantastic to join West Lothian Scouts in celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Craigs Woodlands campsite at Torphichen.
The volunteers who run the Scouts provide amazing opportunities for young people, and it was great to share their special day with them.
The centenary of the end of the Great War in 2018 was marked with numerous events in West Lothian and across the UK.
This year’s Remembrance events were especially poignant due to the special milestone, and it was great to see so many local people getting involved to pay tribute to those who sacrificed so much for the freedoms we enjoy today.
This year’s Celebrating Sport awards was another excellent event, and it’s great to see local athletes, coaches and club officials recognised for their efforts.
I would like to thank all the volunteers who give up their time to ensure that local children and adults can take part in sporting activities.
I wish you and your family all the best for the festive period and 2019.
