TV spot gives Amy a boost

the whole experience had been incredible and had taught her so much about showbusiness.

She told the Courier: “I had been approached by a scout who had suggested I take part in an audition and so I went through to the auditions in Glasgow.

“There were three auditions and meetings in between, so it was actually quite a lengthy process before I even got to the blind audition.

“I was then flying up and down to London for rehearsals and to Manchester for studio rehearsals and meetings with the vocal coach and band.

“It was a lengthy and quite stressful process but a really incredible experience.”

Amy said she has not been left disheartened by her brush with fame – quite the opposite in fact, as she said it has spurred her on to pursue and dreams and given her new confidence in her abilities.

She continued: “I took away a belief that I really can do these things.

“I felt really grateful to even be there and grateful for the opportunity and never truly believed I deserved it but then I thought, no, I have worked hard all my life and I do deserve it.

“I’m proud of myself and I’ve come away believing in myself a bit more.”

Amy said unfortunately she never got to meet any of the judges but the whole experience has given new found energy to pursue her singing career.

She added: “I’m disappointed but I learned so much about how to work with cameras and things like that and dealing with different personalities.

“It’s also given me the push I needed to get my own original music out there.

“I make my living by singing covers but I really want to write my own material and I think this has helped to raise my profile.”
