Bathgate athlete Dawn Flockhart has passed away aged 51.

The former Scotland internatio­nal was one of the country’s leading sprinters during the 1980s.

In her youth, Dawn set an under-15 200 metres record of 24.63 in 1981 - a time that still stands to this date.

While she never won a senior title, she was a medallist 13 times and represente­d Scotland in eight internatio­nal matches as well as running for Great Britain as a member of the 4x100m relay team.

Dawn also sealed a bronze medal as part of the GB 4x400m team at the European Junior Championsh­ips in 1985.

LIVINGSTON ATHLETIC CLUB

It was a busy few days for the club at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.

Seven teams and 28 athletes took part in the Relay Championsh­ips with the under-15 girls’ A team of Maia Campbell, Kirsten Bowe, Sophie Messenger and Ella Watson setting new club records in both the heats (1:50.85) and semis (1:50.78) to qualify for the final in a fortnight.

The club’s senior men’s A team (Matthew Power, Ricky Arthurs, Fraser Steele and Oliver Wagner) finished fourth in their final with a senior and overall club record time of 1:34.05.

In the National Combined Events Championsh­ips, Eve Allison won a bronze medal in the under- 20 women’s pentathlon while Anna Boules set a personal best in the under- 15 girls’ pentathlon, 60m hurdles and long jump.

Lucy Allison was also in great form as she recorded a new personal best in the under-13 girls’ pentathlon.

Meanwhile, there were also great performanc­es in the National Masters

Championsh­ip with club sprints coach Bob Douglas setting two Championsh­ip best performanc­es and one Scottish Masters Indoor record in the male 65 and over category.

He clinched gold in the 200m and 400m as well as grabbing a silver in the 60m, while there was also a gold medal for Livi’s Stephen Leek in the Long Jump with a distance of 5.73m.

LOTHIAN RUNNING CLUB

Running in a high quality Pacific Pursuit 10km in San Diego, LRC’s Sarah Inglis ran the 10th fastest track 10,000 metres of all-time by a female Scot as she crossed the line in fourth place in 32:36.89.

It was also a personal best, with her time almost two minutes faster than her previous best mark of 34:29.19 set in 2016.

Club duo Kyle Williamson and Brian Lees picked up category prizes in the Carnegie Harriers 15k Devilla Forest Trail Race.

The course, which starts and finishes within the grounds of Tulliallan Police College, attracted almost 550 runners.

Kyle was the leading junior with Brian coming home in third place in the M50 category.

Will Moffat led home the Lothian contingent in 30th place with Christine MacVarish the club’s leading female in seventh.

Results: 30th Will Moffat (1:03.14), 34th Ross Williamson ( 1: 03.36), 37th Kyle Williamson ( 1: 03.59), 39th Al Aitken (1:04.18), 46th Brian Lees (1:05.07), 82nd Christine MacVarish ( 1: 08.35), 130th Andrew Corrigan (1:12.11), 216th Alan Weir (1:18.39), 274th Gerry McCafferty (1:22.07), 339th Kevin Godfrey (1:26.13), 446th Lynne Gow (1:38.39), 450th Brian Morris (1:39.13).

LRC junior athlete Ryan Kirkland was the leading under- 17 in the Glasgow University Five Mile road race at the Garscube Sports Complex.

Ryan completed the course in 28 minutes and 48 seconds which also placed him 25th overall. Club veteran Kenny Mearns also had a good run placing 135th overall and 5th M55.
