Operations Supervisor

We are looking for a customer-centric, highly organised, and dynamic operations supervisor to join our Bathgate Parcels team.

Our team plays a vital role in supporting our business to deliver world-class service, time-critical parcels, and final-mile delivery solutions across the Lothians.

You will play an integral part in the efficient day to day delivery of our Bathgate operations, you will work closely with our operations manager to create a customercentric environment where no two days often provide the same challenge.

You will build and maintain strong working relationships with all colleagues and provide the senior leadership team with operational updates relating to best practices, regulatory updates, training, contractor controls, and operational efficiencies.

You will have oversight for a team of self-employed drivers for whom you’ll be responsible for coaching, training, and motivating.

Duties include: achieve challenging business objectives, KPIs relating to productivity, costs and health and safety of the site; ensuring all relevant systems and reports are analysed and updated in a timely manner and shared with leadership; support drivers on the shop floor to load their vehicles and despatch and debrief drivers to maximise service delivery and ensure drivers are expertly managed.

You’ll need to have qualities including, the Right To Work in the UK with no serious unspent criminal convictions; hold a full UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than six penalty points; a minimum of two years of relevant working experience within a distribution or logistics supervisory; experience of delivering expanding operational KPIs and an experienced approach to prioritisation of daily tasks and keeping a cool head under pressure.

Warehouse Order Pickers required for ongoing work, starting mid-October.

These positions will work on a rota, any five days from seven so there will be weekend working involved. Shift times are 4pm to 1am/1.30am.

Candidates should have previous order picking experience in a similar environment.

Own transport is essential, due to finish times and the location of the depot.

Although these positions are initially on a temporary basis there is the chance to be taken on by the client, providing attendance, timekeeping etc. is to required standards.

Drug and alcohol screening will take place at point of induction.
