MILITARY MUSEUM SCOTLAND

This museum which is in Linburn is open from 10- 4pm every day except Mondays and Thursdays. Last entry to the museum is 3pm. Our new daily entry fees are as follows: Adult £6, Child £3.50, Family Ticket £17 ( 2 adults and up to 3 children under 16), Children under 5 free. Over the coming few weeks you will see lots of changes to the museum, more exciting new displays, both inside and outside. The Library/archive will also have a new look.

We raised a fantastic £ 307 with our recent book sale. This will go a long way to keeping the museum open. Last weekend we held “Baldrick s Bazzaar” with lots of excess items of kit, webbing, uniforms, compo rations and loads of other stuff for sale.

If you have ever visited the museum, you would have noticed our amazing model collection. The majority of the models and dioramas are the work of our resident modeller and veteran George Maher. His latest, now proudly on display is The Warrior (APC/IFV). George will be available every Friday where you can watch him work and get advice about making or painting models.

We will be holding a temporary exhibition – “Model Museum Scotland Model Mania” It will be a week long display of George’s models, some unseen in the museum before. If you are a veteran and a modeller, you will be more than welcome to also display your models as part of our exhibition. There will also be a number of model kits for sale. It will run from Tuesday 13 – Sunday October 18.

Finally as part of a new extension we are looking for more cam nets, please get in touch if you can help.
