WEST LOTHIAN U3A

Have a new public Facebook page called, “West Lothian u3a”. This is open to anyone whether or not they are eligible to join u3a but if you are retired and would like to connect with others, why not go on to the Facebook page to find out more. Monthly open meetings have been held online for over a year now.

The speaker for June was Afriyie Donkor who gave a very informative talk on a charity that she is involved with that works with marginalised women in Kenya, giving them the chance to earn their own living.

There will be no open meeting in July and the August talk will be by one of our own members, Jean Wilson, on the lesser known Turkey, a country she has visited many times.

We still don’t know when we can hold

indoor meetings face to face. Some are taking a break in July but some as continuing to meet on Zoom. The Walking Group and Garden Visits groups have already met up, carrying out risk assessments beforehand and maintaining social distancing rules.

New U3A members are always welcome - please contact the Membership Secretary Helen on 01506 655976. Further information is also available on our website: u3asites.org.uk/westlothian”
