Hamper appeal launches
A social enterprise in West Lothian has launched its annual appeal to help provide local families with young children a special Christmas treat.
They will offer the gift of Christmas hampers, packed with all the festive treats and luxuries to make the season extra special, and they are asking the local community to lend a hand.
Last year’s Christmas Dinner Appeal was a resounding success, with over 55 families receiving everything required to make a lovely traditional Christmas dinner.
This year, the team is taking a slightly different approach and instead will provide hampers filled with a whole range of delights, plus a £10 voucher to be used in their subsidised Family Pantry which sells a range of fresh ingredients, helping families keep their cupboards full throughout the festive season.
Each hamper costs £30 and will help to ensure that eligible families have a
stress-free and happy Christmas.
Tracy Murdoch, founding director of Kidzeco, knows the difference these hampers will make.
She said:“I am delighted to announce the launch of this year’s Christmas Appeal. Every day we see families who, through no fault of their own, find themselves in challenging situations.
“I would ask all our wonderful supporters, and the wider community, to contribute to our appeal. Each hamper will make a real difference, and everyone deserves a little treat.”
Councillor Kirsteen Sullivan, who chairs the Voluntary Organisations PDSP, said: “Once again, Kidzeco is stepping up to give some festive cheer to young families with this year’s festive hamper appeal.
“Throughout the pandemic, Kidzeco adapted its services to ensure continued support for those who needed it at a time when many young families felt isolated. The people of West Lothian have responded with such overwhelming generosity during this challenging time and I’m sure they will do so again with contributions and donations to the appeal.
“Another fantastic initiative from Tracy and the team.”
