Panto discount for community heroes
A West Lothian theatre is thanking community heroes who have been going above and beyond in the pandemic by giving them discount panto tickets.
Howden Park Centre and Martin and Martin Theatre company is presenting Bairns in the Wood in a welcome return after nearly two years of restrictions.
This year’s show is brought to you by the same team that created Cinderella in 2019 – with writing and acting credits that include River City, Shetland, Still Game, Hollyoaks, Later, Taggart, Murder Island, Two Doors Down and Scots Squad.
And in recognition of our ‘Community Heroes’ and all the hard work they have done in the last two years, Howden Park Centre is launching a brand-new special discount – 20 per cent off panto ticket prices on selected dates – as a thank you for all their continuing work during the coronavirus pandemic.
Full details are available on the Howden Park Centre website and the offer applies to those in a range of roles from NHS and social care staff through to Scottish Ambulance Service, fire service, Police Scotland, and education professionals.
Executive councillor for culture and leisure Andrew McGuire said: “I’m delighted to see Howden Park Centre back open and staging a fantastic panto in Bairns in the Wood.
“It’s been a tough few years for the arts, so I hope as many people as possible will go along and show their support for what promises to be a fun day or night out for the whole family.”
Writer and director Martin McCormick said: “I am delighted that Howden Park Centre is opening its doors and that Bairns in the Wood is happening after a year away.
“It has been a really tough and challenging time recently and with Panto back I hope that the team and I are able to provide you, our audience, with a little bit of joy this Christmas.
“We look forward to welcoming patrons to Howden Park Centre this Christmas – along with the cast and crew of Bairns in the Wood!”
The show runs until December 28 and tickets are on sale now from www.howdenparkcentre.co.uk where you can also find details of the full programme of shows. You can also call the box office on 01506 340700.
