Police probe attack

A man was rushed to hospital after he was set upon by a gang of youths in a vicious unprovoked attack.

Police are appealing for informatio­n following the incident on Darwin Street in Livingston on at around 3.30pm on Saturday, January 22.

The 36-year-old man was attacked by five young thugs who left him with injuries which required treatment at St John’s Hospital in the town.

Officers say their enquires into the incident are ongoing and they are appealing for informatio­n.

Detective Sergeant Lisa Cairney at Livingston CID said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Darwin Street around 3.30pm on Saturday and either witnessed this incident or may have seen the group of youths hanging around.

“I’d also like to ask anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage that has captured the incident to contact police urgently.”

Anyone with informatio­n is asked to contact police at Livingston via 101 quoting incident number 2206 of January 22.
