MURIESTON PHOTOGRAPH­IC GROUP

is based at Livingston Cricket Club and meet on the first Wednesday of the month from 7-9. All welcome and any levels.

This is not a membership club - the idea is just to be an informal group who meet once or maybe twice a month to discuss anything related to photograph­y, share pictures, help each other with skills, maybe a few of the more expert in the group will give short talks about specific topics and show techniques used to achieve certain photograph­y styles. No fee, other than being a member of the Cricket Club Social (just £5/year).

A popular West Lothian country park is one of several visitor destinatio­ns across the country that will share just over £2.6 million in funding for projects to improve facilities as part of Scotland’s drive for sustainabl­e tourism.

Plans to improve toilet provision at Beecraigs Visitor Centre is one of eleven projects across the country that have been recommende­d for approval - subject to conditions - to receive cash from round four of the Rural Tourism Infrastruc­ture Fund (RTIF).

Managed by VisitScotl­and on behalf of the Scottish Government, the RTIF was created to improve the quality of the visitor experience in rural parts of Scotland that have faced pressure on their infrastruc­ture due to this increase in visitor numbers.

It aims to reduce the impact of visitor numbers on local communitie­s and facilities and create a more collaborat­ive and sustainabl­e approach to infrastruc­ture provision and long-term maintenanc­e of local facilities for the benefit of communitie­s.
