Signing Seb is an American dream come true for Livi boss Martindale

-

Livingston have signed USA international Sebastian Soto on loan from Norwich City for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old winger spent the first half of the season at Portuguese giants Porto but featured exclusively for their B team in the second tier.

Lions boss David Martindale said he was hoping to sign Soto, who has two goals in two appearances for the US national team, in the summer but is delighted to finally get his man.

Martindale said: “I was in for him in the summer, but FC Porto came in.

“I thought it was the wrong move at the time but you can’t fault anyone for choosing Porto over Livingston. He’s played for their B team but he’s played and scored at every level of the US national system and he has Bundesliga experience at Hannover before he moved to Norwich.

“He can play anywhere across the front three. He’s lightning quick and a great finisher so we’re excited to have him at Livingston.”
