Library funding welcome
West Lothian Libraries have been awarded £6000 from ‘The Scottish Government’s Public Library Improvement Fund’.
The funding will go towards West Lothian Libraries‘Eco-Ableism Project’- which aims to make climate change activism more accessible for people living with disabilities.
Nearly £400,000 has been awarded through the Scottish Government’s Public Library Improvement Fund and the School Library Improvement Fund. Fiona Hyslop, MSP for Linlithgow, said:“It is fantastic to see the Eco-Ableism project secure funding of this nature from the Scottish Government to support their important work. Many of us take for granted the ways in which we recycle or work to help the environment. A just transition to net zero is so important for safeguarding the future of our planet, and it has to be rooted in equality and fairness for all. This funding is very welcome for those across West Lothian who want to help care for the environment but may have found it harder to do so.”
