Elden opens up door to a new world
Announced way back in 2019, fans now have just another week to wait to get their hands on this action RPG.
Elden Ring takes place in the ‘Lands Between’, set in the times after the self-titled ring has been destroyed and its shards —the Great Runes — scattered.
You play as a‘Tarnished’, an exile who must help to restore the Elden Ring and take your place as the Elden Lord.
While the game starts with a linear opening, players will eventually be able to freely explore the Lands Between, which boast six main areas, as well as the catacombs, fortresses and castles scattered across the open-world map.
Given the game’s incredible pedigree — it comes from the author of Game of Thrones, George R.R Martin and legendary game director Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of Dark Souls — Elden Ring is something truly special.
Out this week on the Switch is Assassin’s Creed Ezio Collection which features three consecutive games in the long-running Assassin’s Creed series, 2009’s
Assassin’s Creed II, 2010’s Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and 2011’s Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.
Each game takes place in the distant past, Assassin’s Creed II in 15th- century Renaissance Italy, Brotherhood in 16th-century Rome, fighting the Borgias, and Revelations staying in the 1500s. — all of which have been beautifully remastered in 4k.
