Stock car ace set for busy season
Jordan Cassie is aiming for a busy and successful season at the Cowdenbeath Racewall in Fife, writes Jim Turner.
The Armadale ace is hoping to make up for some inconsistent form last time up having also missed out on the entire 2020 campaign due to the covid-19 outbreak.
He said:“This year I intend to race as often as I can, definitely all the championships, and one of my aims is to qualify for the World Final at Skegness.
“In all I have pencilled in around 40 meetings all going well.
“I didn’t race in 2020 due to the covid outbreak and over that close season the car had been repanelled, sign written and checked over. I had bought an Elbourn engine, and that certainly made the car more competitive.”
He added:“I didn’t have too much luck in the championships unfortunately. In the Scottish I had two seventh places in my heats but nothing in the final.
“When the European came around, it was at the Racewall and I did alright in my heats. I picked up a third, a fifth and an eighth.
“Whilst I started from row four, I wasn’t in the top-10 at the end but it was the first championship race that I had finished.
“At Skegness in the UK Championships, I qualified for the final through a third place in one of my heats but was caught up in the action and had to retire.
“I had to race in the last chance qualifying heat at the World championship at Mildenhall but was caught up in a shunt and then had a small fire under the bonnet.”
