Warning of works on M8
A section of the M8 motorway will be closed again tonight (Thursday).
Westbound between Junction 4A to Junction 5 has been closed the last two nights and will be closed from 8.30pm tonight until 6am tomorrow for resurfacing works.
A diversion route for westbound traffic will be signposted from Junction 4A to Junction 5 via the B7066 and B7057, adding an estimated 0.4 miles to affected journeys. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East network manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve safety and ride quality for motorists using this section of the M8.
“Road closures are essential for safety, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption.”
