Police issuecall over kids’ behaviour

-

Police are calling on parents to make sure they know where their kids are at night following another spate of deliberate fires and drunken behaviour.

Officers based in Broxburn say they have again been receiving complaints from local residents in the Stewartfield area regarding groups of young people setting fires to wheelie bins and consuming excess alcohol in the area. Police joined local residents, councillors and MP Hannah Bardell last year in looking at ways to curb anti-social behaviour in the area.

A police spokesperson for the West Lothian Community Policing Team, said: “This is a safety issue, especially if persons are vulnerable due to excess alcohol intake and exposed to the cold weather. The community policing team will be out and about in the area and it is requested that parents regularly check in with their children to ensure that they are making the right decisions to keep themselves and others safe.”
