New round of mental health funding launched
Voluntary Sector Gateway West Lothian has launched a further round of funding from the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund.
The fund, which totals £57,000, aims to support community-based initiatives that promote and develop good mental health and wellbeing.
It can also go to projects that protect against the impact of distress and poor mental health in adults.
Applications ranging from £2000 to £10,000 will be accepted and they must be submitted by noon tomorrow (Friday, March 4).
This round of funding is open to new applicants only – organisations that submitted applications in the first round of funding will not be eligible for this second round of funding. The first round of funding, which totalled £470,000, was made available to community groups and third sector organisations in West Lothian.
The application process for the first round of funding closed on
January 14 and it was significantly oversubscribed.
The two rounds of funding, totalling £527,000 in West Lothian, come as part of the Scottish Government’s established ‘Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund’which totals £15 million across Scotland.
The Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund is an extension of the Scottish Government’s Recovery and Renewal Fund.
