Volunteers have started painting their shipping container.

Puzzled what to do in February? Pick up a jigsaw puzzle reduced from £3 to £2. We have a variety of them in nearly new condition. Our Community Shop in East Calder is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10-2pm.

We have a wide variety of bric a brac (glasses, crockery, ornaments, pictures) and are well stocked with clothes, toys and books. We also have the ree boxes outside which are fun to rummage.

LADIES CIRCLE

East Calder Ladies Circle will be starting back up on today (Thursday) at 1.30pm in the Dave King Partnershi­p Centre. We look forward to seeing all members again. Please bring your own cup and biscuit with you.

LADIES’ MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT GROUP

This group offers peer support, confidence building, social activities, advice and support. No

registrati­on, we are a free service so just drop into the Dave King Partnershi­p Centre, East

Calder every Monday from

6.30-8.30pm.

FORGET ME NOT CAFE

If you or a family member has had a diagnosis of dementia or memory issues then please join us at the café for an informal and friendly social group withr a cuppa and blether.

Please note that due to current circumstan­ces, booking is essential. The cafe opens on the last Thursday of every month from 10-12noon in East Calder Church Hall. Please contact Alzheimer Scotland on 01506 533108 to book.

SENIORS ACTIVITY HUB

Every Thursday morning the Green room will be transforme­d into a Seniors Activity Hub.

Come in, relax and enjoy a coffee and cake, pop in and say hi or stay and enjoy some relaxed activities anytime between 9.30- 12.30pm. If you have a senior neighbour, tap on their door and invite them to come on in (if they need support getting here, please let us know.

GALA QUIZZES

Quiz nights will be held on the first First Thursday of each month at 8pm in The Kirknewton Inn.

A maximum of 4 per team, £2 entry per person, £20 cash prize. All money raised goes towards Gala 2022.

The workshop on Wednesday March 16 will be “Applying for Apprentice­ships” from 1-2.30pm.

Access2Emp­loyment is based in Almondbank Centre, Livingston supporting the individual so that they are equipped with employabil­ity skills that meet the needs of employers, recognisin­g that one size does not fit all.

Advisers help people to develop confidence, compile or advise on preparing CVs, provide interview guidance, assist with the completion of applicatio­n forms and provide overall employabil­ity support. MINDFUL WRITING COURSE

Another well-being course taking place soon is the mindful writing course. Using mindful exercises, playful writing reflection­s and group feedback, you will learn the benefits of writing regularly. Openness is encouraged but you can share as much or as little as you’re comfortabl­e with.

ALMONDBANK LIBRARY

Almondbank Library has now reopened to the public after being closed after experienci­ng damage due to a water leak in Almondbank Centre.

The library opening hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9- 6pm and Thursday 9- 7pm. Saturday and Sunday: unavailabl­e.

DAISY

Daisy Drop In are holding a Spring Fayre on Thursday March 31 at 10am. There will be a hamper raffle, an Easter egg hunt, Easter inspired activities and home baking etc. Donations are welcome and can be handed into the playgroup or Drop In

TRADERS FAIR

Come join us at Craigs Farm’s Traders Fair on Saturday March 26 from 1-2pm for a great chance to support local businesses. Have a fun day out, have a bite to eat at the cafe and pick up some wonderful handmade goods from fantastica­lly talented people from our own community.
