Emma is a cut above the rest to win award

The owner of a West Lothian salon has won Stylist of the Year for 2021 at the 10th Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards.

Emma Smith, of Brock’s Hair Studio in Bathgate, was presented with the award at The DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow recently, when 450 hair and beauty profession­als vied for the top awards.

Brock’s Hair Studio has only been open since September 2019, but Emma has more than 15 years of experience in her trade.

Speaking about being named stylist of the year for 2021, she said: “I was absolutely delighted to have been nominated for two awards.

“I never thought for one minute I’d walk away with one, let alone stylist of the year.

“This was originally meant to be our Christmas night out, then it was moved to February.

“Still, it was nice to get glammed up.”

The salon offers styling, colouring, extensions, and specialise­s in hair loss integratio­n.

It was also nominated for Salon of the Year at the awards show.

The awards showcased make-up artists, nail technician­s, aesthetic clinics, hair and beauty teams, and colour specialist­s amongst other categories.

Also honoured at the event was Natrabrow in Bathgate, which won Beauty Salon of the Year.
