WHITBURN COMMUNITY GARDEN VOLUNTEERS

have started painting their shipping container.

They have a few design ideas and will be looking to get your opinion, so look out for a poll in the coming days on the Facebook page.

Exciting news, the polytunnel was erected! It’s now time to get it kitted out ready for our first growing season! They’re still in need of volunteers, if you could spare some time on a Monday and Thursday afternoon then please get in touch with David at

Volunteers are urgently required to be custodians of the Bennie Museum in Bathgate.

MIDDLETONH­ALL BOWLING CLUB

Pie, Pea & Bingo nights have now resumed in the club on the last Thursday of the month 7pm for 7.30pm start. £1 admission.

CARERS OF WEST LOTHIAN

Run two monthly social groups for disabled adults living in West Lothian. The evening group runs on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 6-7pm and the morning group, on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 10.30-11.30am.

They are using zoom to run these groups while there’s social-distancing restrictio­ns in place.

Normally, the evening group meet in Bathgate and the morning group, in Livingston.

These social groups are a great way to meet other people, have a chat and a bit of fun with an activity or two such as quizzes, music etc.

He was an eccentric Victorian gentleman who ideas were the scourge of the local council and other fraterniti­es in the town but whose attempts to become a councillor himself never came to fruition.
Buncle, a chemist, ran a tannery and glue works and also set up a successful soap company in the grounds of the then
Springfiel­d House just to the east of where Oracle is situated now.
Jim Hannah gave the vote of thanks, thanking the speaker for his excellent presentati­on and he also thanked the Linlithgow Golf Club for supplying a fine meal.
