Livi Women drop points in title charge

-

Livingston Women suffered late disappointment as they conceded an 86th minute leveller to Rossvale as the two Championship South title hopefuls played out a 2-2 draw.

Despite a bright start, the hosts were unable to break the deadlock in the first half and were made to pay after the interval as Rossvale got themselves in front with McQuillan making the most of a defensive error to fire beyond Charlotte Ferguson.

The Lionesses reacted quickly to that setback as Natasha Frew made up for her error in the lead up to the Rossvale goal with an assist to send

Ashley Fish in behind the defence and roll home her 24th goal of the season.

Gemma Mason’s free-kick bounced back off the crossbar before Livi eventually found a second.

With 10 minutes left on the clock, Rebecca Jaconelli teed up skipper Vicky Wood, who duly fired high into the top corner. But their lead only lasted six minutes as Coleman was left unmarked from a corner to head home an equaliser.

The dropped points means Livi must defeat leaders Gartcairn this weekend to realistically keep their title hopes alive.
