Linlithgow Rose suffered a late collapse as their Premier Division title hopes took a dent in a 3-2 away loss to Dunbar United.

The Rose were leading 2-0 with 16 minutes to go thanks to goals from Mark Stowe and Alan Sneddon.

However, Steven Thomson reduced the arrears with a free-kick before Dean Whitson flicked home in the 86th and 87th minutes to condemn Gordon Herd’s side to a fifth defeat in seven games in all competitions since their 21-game winning streak was brought to an end.

They now sit a point behind leaders Penicuik but having played a game more.

Elsewhere in the League Cup there were wins against higher level rivals for Bathgate Thistle, Stoneyburn, and Whitburn.

Scott Richards netted the only goal as Bathgate defeated Dunipace as Creamery Park, while a fine free-kick from Callum Robertson gave the Fulshie a 1-0 win against Ormiston.

Reece Duncan’s penalty proved the difference in a 2-1 away win at Oakley United after the hosts had answered back following Darren Liddell’s early opener.

Sammy Watson scored for Armadale Thistle as they produced a brilliant performance in a 1-1 home draw against Premier Division side Jeanfield Swifts.

Goals from Craig Johnston and Craig Millar weren’t enough as West Calder United lost 3-2 at Dalkeith Thistle, while Livingston United were beaten 2-0 at Hill of Beath.

Pumpherston lost 8-1 at Musselburgh Athletic, while Harthill Royal made the trek to Campbeltown where they suffered a 3-0 loss in a Division Four fixture.
