Evacuation ingasleak fearafter carcrash

Police evacuated people from buildings near a petrol station over fears of a gas leak caused by a three-car crash.

Officers alerted the public via Twitter, saying they were at the Morrisons petrol station in the Almondvale area of Livingston this week.

Surroundin­g roads were also closed as a precaution, with police asking people to avoid the area.

Roads were closed between Adambrae, Almondvale and Newpark Road roundabout­s, as well as Alderstone Road.

Police said: “Officers assisted with a crash involving three vehicles at a petrol station in the Almondvale area of Livingston.

“Nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution following a suspected gas leak caused by the collision.”

The public were asked to avoid the area as there were a number of road closures in place.

Roads closed between the Adambrae, Almondvale and Newpark Road roundabout­s, and Alderstone Road.
