Table tennis star Colin’s joy at getting Games nod
Commonwealth Games Scotland have announced that Livingston professional table tennis player, Colin Dalgleish, has secured his place at this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Colin is currently Scotland’s second ranked table tennis player after a strong performance at the recent Scottish Championships.
This year’s Commonwealth Games will be Colin’s second – he made his Commonwealth debut in Australia in 2018, competing in the men’s singles and the team event, helping his team finish 9th.
Colin secured his first Scottish national title in 2020 and represented Great Britain at the World University Games in Taipai in 2017 and in Naples in 2019.
Now he’s looking forward to the Commonwealth Games and said:“I’m absolutely delighted to be representing Scotland at my second Commonwealth Games.
“Over the next few months I’ll be working even harder to be in the best shape possible for Birmingham.
“I can’t wait for the Games to begin and be part of Team Scotland again!”Colin will
be joined in Team Scotland by Lucy Elliot, Rebecca Plaistow, and Gavin Rumgay.
The Table Tennis events will take place at the NEC Arena in Birmingham between July 29 and August 8 2022.
