Table tennis star Colin’s joy at getting Games nod

Commonweal­th Games Scotland have announced that Livingston profession­al table tennis player, Colin Dalgleish, has secured his place at this summer’s Commonweal­th Games in Birmingham.

Colin is currently Scotland’s second ranked table tennis player after a strong performanc­e at the recent Scottish Championsh­ips.

This year’s Commonweal­th Games will be Colin’s second – he made his Commonweal­th debut in Australia in 2018, competing in the men’s singles and the team event, helping his team finish 9th.

Colin secured his first Scottish national title in 2020 and represente­d Great Britain at the World University Games in Taipai in 2017 and in Naples in 2019.

Now he’s looking forward to the Commonweal­th Games and said:“I’m absolutely delighted to be representi­ng Scotland at my second Commonweal­th Games.

“Over the next few months I’ll be working even harder to be in the best shape possible for Birmingham.

“I can’t wait for the Games to begin and be part of Team Scotland again!”Colin will

be joined in Team Scotland by Lucy Elliot, Rebecca Plaistow, and Gavin Rumgay.

The Table Tennis events will take place at the NEC Arena in Birmingham between July 29 and August 8 2022.
