Shop’s new growing project

-

The Reuse and Thrive community shop in East Calder has secured funding to support growing edibles and plants for locals.

Come and join them at their pop-up stall, outside the Dave King Partnership Centre on Saturday (May 14).

The event takes place from 10am until 12pm when

you can learn to make plant pots from newspaper and take home some pots with soil and seed in to grow on at home.

Activities are suitable for all the family.

They will follow this event with a tidy up of the flower bed at the top of Langton Road next month and the planting of some edibles for everyone to enjoy when fully grown.

The community shop in East Calder is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am until 2pm.

A spokesperson said: “We welcome any donations, but do not have the room for DVDs, CDs and hard back books.

“Also, no electrical items please.”
