Wright eyes play-off slot
Peter Wright is aiming to give himself some breathing space as he looks to secure a Premier League Darts play-off berth.
With the season approaching the final few weeks, the Livingstonborn world champion and current world No.1 sits in fourth place –five points ahead of Joe
Cullen in the battle for the final play-off spot.
Wright, pictured above, is in action tonight (Thursday) in Sheffield, where he takes on Michael van Gerwen in the quarter-final clash.
An impressive showing at the Utilita Arena would make it difficult for him to fall out of the top four, with just two meetings remaining following the action in Sheffield.
Defending champion Jonny Clayton currently leads the way with a six-point advantage over van Gerwen and has reached the final in each of the last three meetings – winning twice.
