Bathgate Thistle are set to hold open trials as they look to build their squad for next season – while West Calder United have announced they will be starting up an under-20 side in time for the 2022/23 campaign.

Thistle, who appointed Andy Malone as their new gaffer a fortnight ago, have had a poor first season in the senior game and sit second bottom of the East of Scotland Conference X table.

The trials are for both the senior and under-20 sides and will take place on Tuesday, May 24 at Creamery Park (6pm start).

West Calder United’s impressive youth system are now also looking to field an under-20 side next season with potential progression to the club’s first team.

They are looking for experienced players to add to their squad leading into pre-season.
