College congratulated
West Lothian College has been congratulated by local politicians following the recent publication of 2020-21 college sector key performance indicators.
Fiona Hyslop MSP for Linlithgow Constituency and Angela Constance MSP for Almond Valley have congratulated the college on having delivered significantly above its credit targets and having the highest rate of student success of all 15 regional colleges across Scotland.
Following the figures published by the Scottish Funding Council, Ms Hyslop said: “This report sets out important recognition of the quality of teaching and learning taking place at West Lothian College and I congratulate all the staff under the strong leadership of the principal, Jackie Galbraith.
“I’m in regular contact with Jackie so am aware of the substantial commitment and successes of those studying and working at West Lothian College.
“These figures also show West Lothian College is well placed to deal with the demands of an increasing population and growing economy in West Lothian.“
Ms Constance added:“West Lothian College has proved yet again how responsive it is to local student needs, delivering positive results, and in many respects it is a leading College in Scotland.
“I am very proud of the role the college plays in improving the life chances of young people and those returning to education, as well as ensuring our local economy has the skilled workforce it needs.
“I pay tribute to all those involved in their efforts and commitment to students that is evident in this report.”
