- CALLUM CARSON

Livingston will start the 2022/23 season with a trip to Coatbridge after being handed a tricky Premier Sports League Cup group stage draw.

The Lions will kick-off the new campaign with a visit to League Two side Albion Rovers while their other Group G opponents feature two league champions and the loser of the Premiership play-off final.

David Martindale’s side, who were seeded first and reached the final of the competition two seasons ago, will get things underway against the Wee Rovers on July 9 before welcoming Inverness Caledonian Thistle on July 12.

Livi two final clashes are against league champions and will also be the first competitive fixtures against bot sides.

It’s a trip north to face League One champions Cove Rangers on July 16 before the Lions complete their section by playing host to League Two title winners Kelty Hearts on July 23.

The league winners and three best runners-up will progress to the knockout stages, where they will be joined by Scotland’s five European representatives.
