Third Division derby days highlight weekend fixtures

-

Three West Lothian derby clashes in the East of Scotland Third Division highlight the weekend fixtures for West Lothian’s dozen teams.

Armadale Thistle will be keen to get back to winning ways after dropping points late on against Fauldhouse United at the weekend and they welcome free-falling Livingston United to Volunteer Park.

The Dale’s promotion bid looks firmly in the bag as they boast a 16 point lead over third-placed Edinburgh College but they’ll be eyeing up a title challenge with leaders Bo’ness Athletic.

Stoneyburn and Pumpherston have both had mixed results over recent weeks and will be keen to look upwards in the table when they meet at Beechwood Park.

It’s sure to be a keenly fought clash with Darren Pegg’s Pumphy side sitting just a single point and place above The Fulshie.

West Calder United play host to

Fauldhouse United at Hermand Park.

In the Second Division, leaders Whitburn will be looking to keep their title bid firmly on track and will be considered heavy favourites to get the better of an Easthouses Lily side with just four wins from their 18 league fixtures when the teams meet at Central Park.

Linlithgow Rose’s Scottish Cup journey may have been brought to an end but there’s still potential for a special season as they go into this weekend’s home clash with Hill of Beath Hawthorn aiming to add to their 15 point advantage at the top of the table.

Blackburn United are mired in a relegation battle but could jump as many as four places in a congested lower half of the table if they can get the better of Haddington Athletic at the Purdie Worldwide Community Stadium while Broxburn Athletic make the journey to Clackmannanshire to face Sauchie.
