Architects of town cinema

In your edition of February 28th, 2019 and your report regarding the new project for Capitol Theatre, in the second paragraph, the building is referred to as the former Odeon cinema.

This is incorrect, it was the Ritz, an ABC cinema. The Odeon was on the left side of North Street as you left the Carfax. I am sure of my facts as my uncle Leslie Parsons, a partner in the firm of architects, Goldman and Kay, designed the Art Deco building.

I feel this is important because false facts become facts.

Another myth a few years ago was that the Capitol Theatre was formerly the Capitol cinema which was at the further end of Albion Terrace, now Albion Way. This again is untrue, when the alterations were made, for some reason, the name was adopted.
