Garden open day is set to raise funds for charity

- Sam Dixon-French

Warnham park is to host a garden open day in aid of cancer charity Bloodwise.

Soup and ploughman’s lunches will be served at the event along with cream teas and cakes.

The day will also have a plant stall and a raffle.

The event, on Sunday May 19, is to run from midday until 4.30pm.

Admission will cost £5 with children going free.

The garden is set in a deer park, home to the worldfamous herd of red deer.

The informal garden was redesigned 12 years ago and is a work in progress. There are two mixed borders framing the lawn with a ha-ha which gives clear views across the park from the house.

A walled garden, woodland walk and vegetable garden add to the scenery.

No dogs are permitted except guide dogs and there is wheelchair access.
