Stephens relishing FA Cup quarter-final tie

-

Dale Stephens believes there is a massive opportunity for Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup this season.

The Seagulls travel to Championship side Millwall in the quarter-finals on Sunday as they bid to reach the last four for the first time since 1983.

With just Manchester City and Manchester United left in the competition out of the Premier League’s top six, Stephens said: “It’s a massive opportunity for us. If you look throughout the competition and the teams who have gone out and the teams still in, we still find ourselves in the cup.

“It’s a welcome situation for us and we’re looking to progress to a semi-final at Wembley.”

Albion have eased the pressure at the bottom of the Premier League somewhat after back-to-back wins over Huddersfield and Crystal Palace but Stephens said: “It’s a one-off game. We’d have treated it that way regardless of the last two results.

“It’s an opportunity for the players who have played in the competition to go and show what they can do again.

“It’s a game we’re looking forward to and we’re looking to progress in the competition.”

Sunday’s game kicks-off at 2pm and will be decided on the day.
