Flamingos snake, rattle and swim to ace English crown
Atlantis Flamingos have been crowned English Champions at the Synchro National Age Groups events.
The Synchronised Swimming National Age Group Championships took place at the Manchester Aquatic Centre at the start of March.
Ranjuo and LeAnne Tomblin performed their rattlesnake routine at 13-15 mixed duet level, inspired by the Chinese tradition that finding a snake is a lucky event.
Relying on talent rather than luck, Ranjouvery professionally started the synchro routine with enthusiasm and brought his sister LeAnne into the routine to win gold with 46.0667 points. A massive 4.4 point improvement.
The brother and sister mixed duo really enjoy training and practice methodically to get these results.
Coach Francesca Casagrande said: “They have great fun with the snake theme choreography of the routine. The rattlesnake was very lucky for them.
“The team have an impressive track record having won silver in 2017, and going on to win the English Championships last year and this.
“Well done congratulations Flamingos.”
Atlantis also took part in the first round of the annual Sussex League competition on Saturday night.
Atlantis are one of only two and Atlantis clubs who field two teams, one in Division 1 and one in Division 2.
The A team performed really strongly, winning their match by a significant margin offering some fantastic individual performances.
The B team were up against strong competition and finished third in their match.
