Tomlinson has impressive finish in Surrey

Horsham Jogger made the short trip across the county boarder for The Mercer Surrey Half Marathon on Sunday.

The scenic, single-lap race is set in the countrysid­e surroundin­g Woking and Guildford.

It follows a fully-closed and profession­ally marked and measured route out from Woking town into the nearby quaint villages.

Therunners­areenterta­ined and encouraged by live music and communitie­s of local supporters.

The Joggers were led home by Gary Tomlinson, coming in 30th place in the impressive time of 1hr 17min 02sec.

Other times were: Jo Tomlinson 1:57:16, Aimee Fenwick 1:59:15, Margaret Wadman 2:13:59, Caroline Bransden, 2:14:55, Clare Dutfield 2:19:16, Elisabeth Scott 2:35:03.

The West Worthing 10K is a seafront run organised to raise funds for the Thrive Federation of special schools in Sussex.

The seafront run in offered a choice of 10k or 5k distances and was full to capacity.

Horsham Joggers were represente­d in the 10k event by Matt Senior 51:03, Emma Walters 52:27, Miranda Morley 54:46 and Paul Morley 71:22.
