Cowfold secure back-to-back victories

-

or were mopped up by Joe Groome in the Cowfold goal, who had no save to make for 45 minutes.

Such has been the up and down nature of Cowfold’s season that they half expected to come out to a second half where the wind had completely dropped but conditions remained exactly the same.

The hosts dealt with the wind in a better way than their opponents had done in the first half, keeping the ball on the ground and using neat passing interplay to work their way up the field.

It was one of these moves that brought about the first goal when Lau found himself with the ball at his feet some 20 yards out.

His curling left-footed effort would have forced the keeper into making a save but in fact a wicked deflection took it wide of him to his right and Cowfold had the lead on 62 minutes.

A little under ten minutes later, they doubled their advantage. George Newland was desperately unlucky when his excellent finish was ruled out by the referee in favour of a penalty. But Brabon stepped up to take the kick and expertly finished to his right giving the keeper no chance.

The remainder of the match saw Bosham trying to get back into the game but a resolute defence and midfield led by the excellent man of the match Luke Parsons and Greg Brabon, together with the difficult conditions, meant they went the full match without a shot on target.
