A man who died in a crash near Horsham has been formally identified by police.

At around 4.20pm on Saturday, March 28, a white Ford Transit van towing a trailer left the A29 Bognor Road carriageway and collided with a tree, police said. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He has since been identified as Christopher Willmer, 67, of Clemsfold.

Sussex Police said: “Police are still seeking witnesses to the incident, which occurred just west of Horsham, near to the junction of Rowhook Road. Specifically, officers are keen to speak to the driver of a white Mini that was three cars behind the van when it crashed – they are not in any way involved, and this is purely to obtain a witness statement.”
