Pull together for good of UK

-

Horsham residents should pull together ‘for the good of the country and the good of everybody’.

This is the message from Horsham District Councillor Christine Costin who urged dog walkers to be responsible and not overload dog waste bins in a bid to reduce the pressure on ‘amazing’ council workers.

She said: “Horsham District Council staff try desperately hard to manage the Waste Services and we must not take that for granted.

“The operatives are juggling homelife, illness and quarantine like the rest of us.

“Dog owners please carry an extra bag and take the waste home to be sensibly disposed of with household rubbish.

“Whatever you do, don’t put your full bags in hedges or on trees – they are a health risk and look hideous.”

Everyone will be grateful if dog walkers take their pet’s waste home, said Christine.

She added: “Remember Horsham District Council’s waste services staff, the kerbside crews and cleansing teams are doing an amazing job in keeping our rubbish under control in difficult times.

“Well done and thank you to all of them.”

On Thursday evening Christine said she joined in with the Clap for Carers event by banging her old dinner gong.

She added the event was an ‘expression of gratitude to thousands of caring people in the NHS and thousands more caring people who are contributing towards looking after all of us’, particularly the vulnerable.
