Hospital’s plea to parents with sick children
Parents are being urged to bring their sick children to hospital during the coronavirus pandemic.
Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs East Surrey Hospital, said it wanted to reassure parents and carers that they can still bring babies and children to hospital – if they are significantly unwell.
Jane Dickson, chief of nursing and midwifery at the trust, said: “We understand the concerns that parents and carers have about the spread of coronavirus – many of us are parents and carers too – and we want to advise and reassure everyone that we are taking all precautions necessary to continue to protect and provide safe care to all of our patients.”
She added: “Please, if your child is really unwell, do not delay – especially if they have an underlying medical condition – bring your baby or child to the hospital for medical care.”
