Care packs ‘really help those on the front line’
More than £28,000 has been raised to support staff at our hospitals, helping to fund hampers of useful items and ‘morale boosting treats’
items such as coffee, tea, soup, energy bars, biscuits, hand creams and lip balms.
Staff in emergency accommodation will also receive shower gels, toothpaste and toothbrushes while away from their homes and families.
The appeal, which was launched to support the health and wellbeing of hospital staff – including nurses, doctors, paramedics, domestic cleaners, pharmacists, porters and other healthcare professionals – has currently raised more than £28,000.
Hannah Bryant, a staff nurse for the critical care unit at St Richard’s Hospital said: “Support for Love Your Hospital’s appeal has shown us how much the local community cares. These care packs will help keep our spirits and energy levels high as we battle COVID19. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far.”
Gerthy Albano, matron for general surgery, said: “Staff at Worthing Hospital are overwhelmed at the show of love from the local community. These comfort packs will really help those on the frontline as they work tirelessly during this crisis.
“A huge thank you to everyone for their support, it means the world to us.”
