Professional help offered to cricket coaches
Cricket coaches across the country are to be given access to approved video workouts by ECB’s Coach Development strength and conditioning tutors to help recreational cricketers stay fit in the lockdown.
The move is part of a linkup with free online portal Amplify Pro – launched by Sussex entrepreneur Damian Milkins – which gives coaches, personal trainers, physios and educators a way of delivering fitness and recovery programmes remotely.
Darren Veness, Surrey’s lead strength and conditioning coach, has designed the workouts and hopes they will help coaches who are not confident drawing up programmes themselves.
Veness, who has also worked with England’s senior men’s team, said: “There are so many cricketers out there, of all ages and standards, who are missing cricket badly and want to find a way to keep fit until play returns.
“Hopefully, these remote programmes, will help coaches.”
