Cricket fans invited to night of virtual fun

Sussex Cricket Foundation is pleased to invite fans of the sport to a free evening of cricket and fun hosted on Zoom on Monday (Feb 1).

Hosted by Roger Dakin, the evening will include interviews and Q&As with Sussex’s most successful men’s captain of all time, Chris Adams, current Sussex Women’s skipper Georgia Adams and Sussex

Cricket CEO and England rugby legend Rob Andrew.

There will also be a family quiz, magic from award-winning magician Nick Einhorn as well as a luxury charity auction and raffle to raise funds for the work Sussex Cricket Foundation does in changing lives through cricket across the community.

Meanwhile, Sussex star George Garton will play for Bangla Tigers in the forthcomin­g Abu Dhabi T10 tournament, the team have announced.

He is the fifth Sussex player to be selected for the fourth edition of the ten-over-a-side competitio­n that runs from today until Saturday, February 6.

The left-arm paceman joins Chris Jordan, Phil Salt, David Wiese and Luke Wright at the tournament.

Wright was announced as Team Abu Dhabi’s captain over the weekend.

Garton was the leading wicket-taker in the third edition of the Abu Dhabi T10, which took place in November 2019.

Salt has had a prolonged spell with the Adelaide Strikers at the Big Bash in Australia. They lost their latest game to Sydney Thunder but face Brisbane Heat in a play-off tomorrow.
