Grants for organisati­ons to help boost vaccinatio­n rates

A small grants scheme to help boost Covid vaccinatio­n rates in Sussex has been launched.

These aim to assist with neighbourh­ood-based activity across communitie­s of interest or people particular­ly at risk of serious illness if they contract coronaviru­s.

The type of initiative­s that may be eligible include developing community-based communicat­ions, hyper local buddying schemes to support people accessing vaccinatio­n, target work with groups to increase awareness of facts about the vaccine and dispel myths and making community-based videos.

Targeted communitie­s and groups are any of the following: South Asian Communitie­s, Black African communitie­s, Chinese communitie­s, people living in identified areas of deprivatio­n, adults with learning disabiliti­es, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communitie­s, those with physical or sensory disabiliti­es or those who are clinically vulnerable or who live with long term health issues.

Grants of up to £5,000 will be awarded.

The Sussex Health and

Care Partnershi­p is only accepting applicatio­ns from fully constitute­d voluntary and community sector organisati­ons, but is encouragin­g smaller unconstitu­ted groups to work in partnershi­p with larger groups recognisin­g the value that smaller bodies can bring to this work.
