A leader of the Future Homes Task Force, our Zero Carbon infrastructure-led placemaking approach is widely accepted as being at the forefront of community creation in the UK. Thakeham is built on five core values of quality, people, the environment, our partnerships and community.

United Nations' Race to Zero

Thakeham is the UK’s first housebuilder on the SME Climate Hub to join the United Nations’ ‘Race to Zero’ campaign. We are one of only five housebuilders in the construction sector globally to join the ‘Race to Zero’.

Carbon Neutral by 2025

In 2020, Thakeham has launched a new threefold crusade to become Carbon Neutral by 2025. Specifically, the home developer has pledged that every Thakeham home will be zero carbon in lifetime operation; that each home built will be carbon neutral in production; and, Thakeham Group as a whole will also be zero carbon.

Committed to Delivery

Thakeham believes there is excitement in not just delivering homes but also affecting people’s lives in a positive way.

“Our Thakeham home has transformed our lives. Every day I look at our home. We’ve been here for a year, but It still makes my daughter and I feel amazing. Everything is perfect.” Lee Roberts Resident in a Thakeham-created Community

Awarded Maximum Five Star Customer Satisfaction

Thakeham Homes has been awarded a five-star customer satisfaction rating for a second year in succession. The HBF (Home Builders Federation) National New Homes customer satisfaction survey is the industry’s most rigorous independent survey.

Thakeham Places Community Trusts at the Heart of New Communities

Thakeham Group, has partnered with the Plunkett Foundation to establish new community trusts at the very heart of their developments. The partnership will pioneer a new methodology that will model how to best establish a community trust to create vibrant, resilient and sustainable places to live and work. Community trust businesses currently have a 95% long-term survival rate. This proven resilience secures vital local services that bring communities together.

Seeley Copse

Thakeham has mobilised and partnered with contractors throughout the South East to deliver a new purpose-built ecological hub and study centre on the Goodwood Estate in Chichester, West Sussex. The Seeley Copse Study Centre will be the region’s most exciting environmental resource of a lifetime. The centre will reach many more local young people, including under privileged families and people with disabilities.

£4 million School to Open this Year

The new Thakeham-built £4 million Woodgate Primary School opens this year. The 210-pupil school at Pease Pottage in West Sussex will offer five classrooms, a main hall, library, multifunctional space and a special educational needs room. This will save a local school threatened with closure, and will be completed before the development.

The Thakeham Family

People are Thakeham’s most important asset. Thakeham operates a thriving graduate recruitment programme and supports the Movement to Work initiative to help young people secure work. Thakeham has signed the HBF Mental Health Charter and recently organised a health and wellbeing programme during Lockdown. A Bronze Armed Forces Covenant signatory and supporter of armed force’s charity Mission Motorsport, Thakeham operates a Talent for Development outreach campaign for military veterans and college leavers.

SCSS is an award-winning industry collaboration to encourage companies to enable sustainable business operations throughout the supply chain.
