A Horsham care home brewed up a storm for National Tea Day with a quintessentially British celebration.

Westlake House residents embraced the day, enjoying a selection of sweet and savoury treats, including Scones with cream and jam.

Residents washed down their afternoon tea with a selection of different teas such as, earl grey, lady grey, lapsang souchong and of course, the ‘old favourite’ English breakfast.

Kate Day, general manager at Westlake House, said: “Residents really enjoyed trying different teas and learning the history of the British tradition.

“We participated in a few traditions of our own and coupled with it being the Queens’ Birthday, it was a very British and celebratory day.”

National Tea Day’s slogan is ‘Brew More. Do More’ and is a movement, set up in 2016, providing opportunities for tea drinkers to understand and appreciate the world of tea.
