Naked calendar plans in motion

- Jasmin Martin ct.news@jpimedia.co.uk

The wait for Horsham’s first naked charity calendar may finally be over as its organiser prepares for photographs to be taken as coronavirus restrictions ease.

The Horsham Gets Naked calendar was originally set to be published in 2021 until planning in early 2020 was halted due to the pandemic, and it was then postponed until 2022.

Now organiser Liam Stanbridge – who works at Brock Taylor Estate Agents in Horsham – is confident the calendar will be out for the start of next year and will soon reveal a date after June 21 for those taking part to bare all.

Liam said: “Finally, having a light at the end of the tunnel with restrictions lifting to start arranging the photos has been such great news.

“Having had to wait I am so pleased the amazing group of people we have all still being onboard to raise money for the worthy causes, who like many in these difficult times have not had their normal fundraising happening. My hope is to later this year raise as much as we can.

“Any support from the local community is always greatly appreciated and this experience has really shown the community spirit in Horsham is phenomenal!”

The calendar will see staff from 12 Horsham businesses get their kit off – with only items related to their company covering their modesty – to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and The Be Real Campaign.

The companies confirmed to be taking part are Brock Taylor, Pretty Things, Black Rose, Yes Lifestyle Club, Rust & Lewis, UpBeat Dance Company, BritWeb, Sisters that Clean, La Vida Boutique, Wooton & Bean, The Olive Branch and Durrants Removals.

Liam originally took to the Visit Horsham Facebook back in December 2019 to see if his idea would be popular, and was amazed that it attracted more than 300 comments and saw eight companies sign up in a day.
